Is Dak Still Confident in Cowboys?

“It was the best of times in Arlington, it was the worst of times pretty much everywhere else,” to borrow a quote from Charles Dickens over this Christmas season. The Dallas Cowboys have now dropped back-to-back games for the first time in more than two years, having won their previous five games.

One of those losses was a rout by the Buffalo Bills on December 17, and the other was a heartbreaker on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

Both of those games happened away from North Texas, fueling the narrative that the Cowboys can’t win big games on the road. Many are down on the Cowboys amidst their losing streak, but the spirit in the locker room has not been shaken.

Despite some recent setbacks, Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott reiterated his faith in the club during Sunday’s game.

There’s a lot of confidence in this squad. We know we can and will defeat strong teams on the road,” Dak remarked.

Two weeks ago, Prescott was considered the overwhelming favorite to win MVP following some of his best performances to date. But in the last two games, he has thrown for just 387 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception; consequently, he has virtually vanished from the conversation. He has also endured a great deal of hardship throughout that time, being fired seven times as a result of errors.

As was already mentioned, the Cowboys have struggled on the road the whole season.

Their lone road victories came against the “boast” of a 12-32 record, the New York Giants,

Los Angeles Chargers, and Carolina Panthers.

The Cowboys’ lone road game left is against the dismal Washington Commanders in Week 18, so t

hey’ll probably have to show their mettle on the road during the postseason. Dak said,

“It sucks” and “it’s frustrating.” Therefore, it doesn’t appear like his optimism is based on denial or sugarcoating.

Yes, their team leader says that even if the Cowboys’ recent losing run has been discouraging,

they still have all they want to accomplish in front of them, and that’s what keeps them going and gives them confidence.
