Dortmund embroiled in civil war ahead of Celtic Champions League clash as Sahin and Sabitzer clash.
Before Dortmund’s Champions League matchup with Brendan Rodgers’ team, things don’t seem to be going well in the Dortmund camp.
Infighting appears to be plaguing Borussia Dortmund ahead of their Tuesday matchup with Celtic, despite the fact that everyone at Celtic seems to be in agreement.
For their second Champions League match of the season, Brendan Rodgers’ squad travels to Germany, where the runners-up from the
previous season will be waiting. However, under Edin Terzic, this seems to be a completely different Dortmund from the one who
advanced all the way to Wembley the previous season. Nuri Sahin, the former midfielder and assistant manager, is under fire, but new
evidence suggests that things haven’t gone well.
Sahin’s record was severely damaged by a 5-1 drubbing at the hands of VFB Stuttgart, and their 4-2 triumph over Bochum in the Ruhr derby over the weekend wasn’t exactly convincing either. Sahin has also gotten into a public fight with Marcel Sabitzer, an Austrian celebrity. The player has said that he would prefer to play as a No. 6, despite the fact that Sahin has utilized him as a right flank. Famous German coach Peter Neururer has issued a warning to Sabitzer in response to Sahin’s public vow that he will continue to use him widely.
“He told Der Westen, “Sabitzer is undoubtedly a guy who can play in multiple midfield positions. “A fantastic man and a fantastic football player. But because it has a particular touch, I believe it is essentially incorrect to make his claims known in public. The athletes must give it their all on the field. It’s true that players need to be heard as well. Ultimately, though, the coach is the one who makes the choice.”
This season’s situation was compared by Neururer to that of Terzic and Mats Hummels, both of whom Nahin had direct experience with before to leaving the squad. “He had seen BVB’s operations the year before.
