Sources: Aston Villa told £17m Iling-Junior bid would be accepted

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Aston Villa has expressed interest in signing Juventus star winger Samuel Iling-Junior.

Prior to the January transfer window, Tottenham had the 20-year-old as one of their top targets as well. It is thought that Ange Postecoglou’s team has been in communication over a possible trade.

In front of the January window, Villa has now also requested details about the Chelsea academy graduate.

Iling-Junior is rumored to be eager to quit Juventus as soon as the new year arrives.

According to Football Insider, a reliable source, the Serie A powerhouses are expected to accept a deal of about £17 million.

Iling-Junior has made six league appearances so far this season, totaling 129 minutes of action – but is yet to start for Juve in the 2023-24 campaign.

The star, who was born in London, moved from Chelsea to Turin in 2020. In 24 senior games for the Old Lady, he has one goal and three assists.

Iling Junior, a left-footer, debuted for the England Under-21 team in September and has since made three appearances for the Young Lions.

Spurs are eager to bring in fresh attackers in light of multiple significant injuries to Postecoglou’s team.

After a 1-1 tie with Sheffield United on Friday, December 22, Villa is now ranked second in the Premier League. On Saturday, December 23, Tottenham has the opportunity to move up into the top four when they play Everton.
