Sky Sports Press Conference Norwich City v Luton Town: Johannes Hoff Thorup presser.

Norwich City head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup previewed Luton Town’s Championship visit – and we have all the key news from Colney on Thursday lunchtime.

City defeated Plymouth 6-1 in midweek, their largest win of the Thorup era, and will face a Hatters lineup on Saturday that might include Tim Krul and Carlton Morris. Liam Gibbs was forced to leave with another hamstring injury shortly after coming on in the second half against the Pilgrims. Thorup confirmed Gibbs will have more scans on the same hamstring he injured earlier this season, and he might be out for up to ten weeks.

Marcelino Nunez will replace Gibbs in the squad after returning to training this week following his own hamstring injury. Thorup said the Chilean was unlikely to make a start. Jose Cordoba (knee) missed his second game in a row on Tuesday, although the Dane hinted that the Panamanian might return this weekend, having previously suggested earlier in the week that the next QPR trip is a realistic aim.

The ultimate decision on the centre back will be made following Friday’s final training session. Ashley Barnes had no bad reactions after making his Thorup debut in a second-half cameo against Plymouth after missing six months due to calf injuries. Kellen Fisher is back after serving a one-match suspension. The City manager gave his press conference on Thursday afternoon at the Colney training facility.

It doesn’t seem that long ago that Johannes Hoff Thorup was bemoaning his lack of midfield options.
