Reports confirm Chargers are in on Mike Williams

At 4-3, the Los Angeles Chargers are right in the thick of the AFC playoff race. After defeating the New Orleans Saints in Week 8, the Chargers will now face a resurgent Cleveland Browns club in Week 9.

If the Bolts can win their second straight game and move to 5-3, they’ll be in good condition heading into the second half of the season. But, as the second half push begins, would the Chargers make a last-minute deal before the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday of next week?

Many supporters have hoped for a reunion between the Chargers and Williams, who was rumoured to be available when the New York Jets traded for Davante Adams. And, much to the delight of Chargers supporters, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini just verified that the Bolts are one of three clubs interested in trading Williams.

That alone is enough to justify the Jets keeping Williams past the deadline.

Fans wanted the Chargers to be involved in the Diontae Johnson trade, which ultimately resulted in the former Carolina Panther moving to Baltimore. As the deadline approaches, the alternatives at wide receiver become increasingly restricted.
