McKenna set for big injury boost with 4 Ipswich stars to return v Leicester

This weekend, in a crucial match for Kieran McKenna’s team, Ipswich Town hosts Leicester City at Portman Road. The Tractor Boys are now 18th in the Premier League standings, three points above bottom-place Southampton, and have yet to win in nine Premier League games.

In contrast, Leicester has improved in recent weeks despite having a difficult start to the season. The Foxes have defeated Southampton and Bournemouth in two of their past three Premier League games; these victories against clubs in your immediate vicinity will help you escape difficulties.

Mick Mills, a former Ipswich defender, stated earlier this week on BBC Radio Suffolk’s Final Whistle that he thinks McKenna’s team “need to win” against Leicester, who, like Ipswich, played in the Championship the previous season.

Leicester is one of the teams we might be able to finish ahead of, in my opinion. He stated, “We must be within touching distance of Leicester, which is two points if we get it right and get the victory we need.”

“There’s eight or nine teams now that won’t be in the relegation fight – they’re in a different world But there are teams that are going to be down there, and Leicester are one of them – that is why that is important.”

Ipswich given big boost in early team news before Leicester clash

McKenna is fortunate that several of his injured players may return for this weekend’s match against Leicester. Omari Hutchinson, Sam Morsy, Ben Johnson, and Jacob Greaves may all make a comeback following stints on the sidelines, per 3 Added Minutes.

Johnson and Greaves had not played in either of Ipswich’s previous two games against Brentford or Everton, and both Hutchinson and Morsy were absent from the match against the Bees due to illness and a muscle injury, respectively.

Last week, McKenna stated in reference to Johnson: “Ben is still out with a small thigh injury.” He could have been able to make it for this weekend, but he hasn’t been able to. Next week, we’ll have to check on him.

Tuanzebe still out with bizarre injury

One man McKenna will still have to make do without against Leicester, however, is Axel Tuanzebe. The 26-year-old defender, who formerly played for Manchester United and earns £40,000-per-week at Portman Road, is currently sidelined with a cut to his hand, which he sustained from breaking a glass while washing up.

At least until the end of November, he is not anticipated to return.McKenna stated earlier this month that Tuanzebe’s injuries was a “household accident, very, very unfortunate, and very, very serious.” His thumb was in danger of being severed. Although it’s a long-term injury, I believe his recuperation is progressing fairly well after having surgery to restore the injured thumb tendons.

The DR Congo international had started all six of Ipswich’s Premier League games this season before getting hurt, making him a vital member of the team.
