BBC NEWS. ‘Obvious choice’ ‘Fresh legs’ – Potential Sheffield Wednesday XI for Watford outing.
Danny Röhl’s Sheffield Wednesday XI will look significantly different when the Owls meet Watford on Saturday.
The Wednesday manager made nine changes for Brentford after his side came from behind to win Portsmouth a few days previously, and it would be unsurprising to see wholesale changes again when the club takes to the pitch at Hillsborough this weekend.
Of course, injuries have played a role, with a few players ineligible for selection owing to present problems, but Röhl has also expressed a strong desire to rotate his team and keep them as fresh as possible throughout what has been a rigorous schedule.
Following the penalty shootout loss to the Bees, he stated, “There was game management for Dom (Iorfa) and Dish (Bernard); we didn’t want them to play 90 minutes, and Liam (Palmer) provided us tranquility in the center of the pitch to have nice moments with the ball. In front, it was encouraging to see that we could now substitute three players to provide fresh legs. The focus is now on Watford, and we have a very busy week ahead.”
Here’s how Wednesday may look at 3 p.m. on Saturday:
