Sky Sport News, Amorim appointment at Manchester Utd could be blessing in disguise for another manager – Warned against job
Ruben Amorim’s anticipated hiring at Manchester United might be a gift in disguise for Brentford’s Thomas Frank.
According to Paul Parker, who has been discussing the topic with Tipsbladet, the Brentford manager may be avoiding a serious situation.
Frank has nearly been willing himself into a new position in recent months, indicating that he is ready to leave Brentford despite his general satisfaction with the club.
Manchester United are reported to have spoken with him throughout the summer while they were pondering Erik ten Hag’s future.
Following Ten Hag’s dismissal on Monday, the Dane was once again considered, but he appears to have been snubbed as Manchester United pushed for Amorim instead.
A deal for the Sporting Club de Portugal manager has been moving fast throughout today, with United already alerting Sporting that they want to pay his release clause.
Most anticipate a deal will be completed soon, and he might be in charge for this weekend’s match against Chelsea if all goes as planned.
If that is the case, Frank will have lost out on a huge role yet again and will remain at Brentford, which Parker feels may be a benefit this time.
“Thomas Frank is the finest option for a manager who can turn things around at Manchester United. He is a superb coach who has a significant influence. He’s harsh and comes across as arrogant at times, but it’s a positive attitude. “He believes in his own abilities,” he explained.
“I sincerely hope he does not join Manchester United. It’s a dreadful club, and there are so many egos on that team that will quickly throw him under the bus. I’m concerned he’ll damage his credit by joining Manchester United.
“He must feel like the yolk in an egg at Brentford, and I don’t think he wants to move to Manchester United. The club is failing, so going there and being fired after eight months would be a huge risk for his own career. He’s excellent, but he’s not a wizard. He can’t convert sand into gold, and this team is only capable of finishing in the top 10.
“If he gets a job, I greet him warmly, but I strongly advise him against it. “He must think carefully.”
