The Los Angeles Dodgers currently have a 3-0 lead over the New York Yankees in the 2024 World Series.

Game 4 is Tuesday night, and the Dodgers are a win away from taking home their second World Series title in five years.

While the teams continue to compete on the field, a major storyline that popped up at the beginning of this season has resurfaced involving a player on each team.

At the beginning of this season, then-Miami Marlins All-Star Jazz Chisholm Jr. had some harsh words for his former teammate, now Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas.

In an appearance on The Pivot Podcast, Chisholm called out the Marlins’ “team captain” for not only being a bad team captain, but a bad person.

“I was already a team leader without being called a team leader. But the vets, you can’t be a team leader when you got guys in the clubhouse that’s been in there for 9-10 years, even though they suck, they’ve been there for 9-10 years and the team calls them the team captain,” Chisholm said.

“But, like, they’re not a good captain, they’re not a good person, you not even a good athlete at this point. You just here. And you’re bringing down the young guys that are supposed to be good.”

Rojas responded to those comments back in March on the Chris Rose Rotation. He was understandably upset.

“When you cross a line and say that I’m not a good person, and I’m there just because of, I guess he’s thinking I’m telling someone that I’m supposed to be there and please keep me here so I can be a Major League Baseball player for 10 years, that’s what kind of bothers me,” Rojas said.

Now, with Chisholm on the Yankees and the teams facing off in the World Series, Rojas was again asked about those comments in an interview with the New York Post.

This time, Rojas was clearly ready to move on.

“I don’t really pay much attention to people’s opinions, other than people I really care about,” Rojas told The Post. “I can’t really tell you anything about his opinions because I don’t take his opinions the way he was talking.”

Rojas added: “I feel like I know my value. And I know what I bring to a team. Nobody needs to reinforce that.”

Chisholm was asked about the incident before the World Series began, and said the former teammates hadn’t spoken since their Miami days.

“Like I said, I have nothing about it,” Chisholm said. “I go out there, I play baseball, and I’m enjoying baseball. Nothing more, nothing less.”

The Yankees and Dodgers play on Tuesday night in what could be the final game of the 2024 MLB season.
