Raiders to Replace Gardner Minshew With Elite 21-Year-Old QB

The Las Vegas Raiders sorely need a long-term quarterback solution, and Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell are clearly not those guys.

When Tom Brady was disclosed as a minority owner of the Raiders earlier this month, owner Mark Davis accepted it. “Although Tom can’t play, he can help us select a QB in the future,” he remarked. When evaluating the future of the position for the team, having the guidance of the greatest quarterback of all time cannot hurt.

In the most recent NFL Mock Draft for Pro Football Focus, the Raiders select Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe with the seventh overall choice, hoping to secure the franchise’s future at the position.

“Milroe might be the biggest home-run swing, bringing difference-making dual-threat ability and a cannon of an arm,” stated PFF analyst Trevor Sikkema. “In addition, he improved his touch and accuracy in 2024.

Milroe has thrown for 1,937 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, with 380 yards and 12 scores on the run. When watching the tape, the outstanding athleticism and deep-ball passing abilities stand out. However, his inconsistencies in advancing through reads and throwing with anticipation need to be worked upon.

Could Milroe be the next quarterback of the Las Vegas Raiders? Only time will tell, but Raiders supporters should tune in next week when Alabama faces LSU in a key SEC matchup.
