Jeff Stelling was taken aback when a fan disclosed that he had altered his middle name via deed poll to “Leeds United”.
The supporter told the former Soccer Saturday broadcaster about altering his middle name, and he couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
Leeds are presently third in the Championship following their 0-0 draw with Bristol City on Saturday, October 26 at Ashton Gate. Stelling told talkSPORT live [28 October, 6:07am]: “Unbelievable.”
Leeds United latest is unbelievable
Despite missing out on promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-off final last season, the Whites and Daniel Farke are certainly feeling the love from the fanbase right now.
While Leeds will be frustrated to lose points against Bristol City, Farke’s side is only five points behind league leaders Sunderland and even with second place.
Leeds have 15 points from their previous seven games, making them unbeaten since a 1-0 loss to Burnley in mid-September, and injuries do not appear to be slowing them down this season.
Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev are already out, and while Largie Ramazani has been sidelined with a new injury [Yorkshire Evening Post], Farke’s squad has just enough depth to keep the unbeaten streak going.
Many supporters expected Leeds to win all three points against the Robins, but with Liam Manning’s club also unbeaten since mid-September, the outcome does not appear to be that bad in the perspective of the season.
With games against Plymouth Argyle, Millwall, QPR, and Swansea City coming up, Farke will be hoping that his side can cut the gap at the top of the Championship table and take control of the title battle.
