SAD NEWS: Burnley are guaranteed to be without eight players for Hull City challenge as injuries bite

Burnley, who are in excellent form, will be missing several first team players due to injuries when they play Hull City at the MKM Stadium tomorrow night.

Manuel Benson, Jordan Beyer, Hannes Delcroix, Hjalmar Ekdal, Lyle Foster, Aaron Ramsey, Nathan Redmond, and Joe Worrall—all former Tigers transfer targets—cannot be selected. Despite only getting back to full, winger Mike Tresor is also a serious question.

However, the Clarets, who were demoted from the Premier League the previous season, have one of the finest teams in the league and are coming off a seven-game winning streak to East Yorkshire. They momentarily topped the standings after their 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, but they were overtaken 24 hours later by Sunderland’s contentious victory over City.

Their excellent defensive record has given Burnley a strong platform on which to build their promotion campaign. In ten games, they have kept six clean sheets. Since the Clarets’ 2-1 victory, goalie James Trafford has played nearly seven hours of football without giving up a goal.

This is going to be a long, difficult season, as head coach Scott Parker has stated numerous times. Although we’ve achieved a really excellent result, we still have a lot of games left, and the league standings currently signifies nothing. We’ve established ourselves fairly and in a strong position after the first ten games. I can’t stress this enough—this is a brand-new team that is just eight or nine weeks old, and they’ve performed remarkably well.

“We appreciate that we’re off to a good start and that we’re where we are, but this journey will be fraught with challenges, and we must be ready for anything.”
