European club could sell 'special' striker for £50m amid Chelsea interest

Chelsea attempted to sign a top centre-forward during the summer but were unsuccessful.

Chelsea considered numerous players, including Victor Osimhen, who is currently being linked with a transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea was reportedly interested in RB Leipzig attacker Benjamin Sesko, but he chose to stay in Germany instead.

According to transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano, Sesko was considering joining Chelsea.

Although Sesko initially planned to stay in Leipzig for the summer, it appears that he may relocate in the near future.

According to GiveMeSport, Sesko has a verbal agreement to depart Leipzig next summer.

According to the same source, the Bundesliga club is prepared to sell the 21-year-old for £50 million, although he may not make his next transfer until 2026.

Sesko remains on Chelsea’s shortlist, according to latest reports. He has two goals in seven league games for Leipzig this season.

Benjamin Sesko should not replace Nicolas Jackson.

Sesko is a high-potential forward. Leipzig’s previous technical director Christopher Vivell praised him as a “special player” on the Bundesliga’s official website.

Currently, it does not appear that the Slovenian would be a better option than Nicolas Jackson, who has been doing really well this season.

The 23-year-old recently struck against Liverpool and has a total of five Premier League goals. Only teammate Cole Palmer, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland have more top-flight goals than him.

If Jackson continues to score goals until the end of the season, Chelsea may not need to sign Sesko unless Christopher Nkunku exits, leaving Enzo Maresca with a lack of options up front.
