Carlos Corberan stance shared as Daniel Farke replacement talk emerges at Leeds United

Paul Robinson has labelled links to Carlos Corberan as “pie in the sky” amid possible pressure on Daniel Farke at Leeds United.

The Whites are “keeping tabs” on the West Brom manager, according to the Sunday Mirror [22 September], with Farke said to be under “big pressure” to win promotion to the Premier League.

Corberan, who worked under Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road between 2018 and 2020, is believed to have a £2million release clause in his current contract at The Hawthorns.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “It’s not even worth talking about. It’s pie in the sky. He’s a great manager, who is doing a really good job at West Brom, but you don’t talk about another manager when he’s doing such a good job elsewhere.

“He’ll have his eyes on automatic promotion from the Championship so you can admire him from a distance. Looking at the job he’s done, defensively West Brom are a sound team, but we’re talking about two managers who are looking to achieve promotion with their teams.

“It’s a nonsense conversation.”

Leeds United to appoint Carlos Corberan as Daniel Farke replacement?

Farke is under pressure to secure promotion to the Premier League after missing out to Southampton in the Championship play-off final last term.

Despite losing the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Archie Gray during the summer, Leeds are three points off the top of the table after 10 league matches.

Corberan, on the other hand, has been lauded for his job so far at The Hawthorns, especially after losing multiple key players during the summer transfer window.

The Spaniard was hailed as “very talented” during his time at Elland Road, with Bielsa even admitting he valued his opinion “more than his own”, which is extremely high praise [Yorkshire Evening Post].

In other Leeds United news, Daniel Farke must start an “outstanding” ace, who has a 71% win rate v Watford.
