Reading vs Crawley Town: Match Preview

Reading vs Crawley Town: Match Preview.

Can the Royals defeat last season’s League Two playoff winners and earn three points? Reading players who were not on international service will be well rested after the international break, and those who were, congratulations on representing your country, but it is now time to return to club football.

Reading had a game postponed just before the international break, which could have stopped momentum a little bit, but hopefully the club can return with a win.

Crawley Town had played two matches since

Reading’s last game, both of which they lost: 5-3 to Shrewsbury Town in the league and 4-3 to AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Trophy. In this preview, I’ll discuss how the visitors will line up tactically and who they will deploy, as well as predictions for the next five games and where each club may lead for the rest of the season, and, of course, my projected lineup. Crawley’s lineup and tactics Crawley Town set up in a 3-4-3 formation and strive to play a more possession-based game than some of our opponents this season.

This 3-4-3 system allows them to change their front three, allowing Ronan Darcy to roam in the attacking-midfield position, almost acting as a shadow striker, making runs to draw defenders away so the two up front have space when they receive the ball.

Crawley conceded five goals in their most recent league game against what appears to be a mediocre Shrewsbury Town team. They were 2-1 up and in modest control of the game when Josh Flint received two yellow cards in three minutes and was sent off, reducing them to ten men. He is also unavailable for the game this weekend.
