Oxford United 1-1 West Brom: Baggies poor form continues as Tottenham loanee Dane Scarlett’s late header earns hosts a point.

The Baggies won the championship in September. Despite dominating for long periods, they curiously failed to win this match and remain in first place until teatime. Carlos Corberan’s pragmatic attitude has deprived Albion fans precious goals. This was the sixth time they have scored one or no goals in the previous ten league games. However, Oxford deserves a lot of credit for their habit of bloodying the noses of bigger clubs at home. Everything about Oxford’s stadium suggests that Des Buckingham’s team’s time in the second tier will be short.

Nonetheless, the Baggies have joined Norwich, Preston, Stoke, and Burnley as teams that have failed to win in Oxfordshire.
