European clubs are in desperate need of this Aston villa youngster.

Aston Villa and teenager Rory Wilson are rumored to be at odds over a contract, which has drawn the attention of multiple European teams.

Two years ago, the 18-year-old transferred from Scottish powerhouse Rangers to Villa Park. This season’s finish marks the expiration of his contract.

Wilson has reportedly been “offered a number of” five-year contract extensions by Villa, but he has not yet signed anything. This information comes from the Daily Record. As things stand, he would be eligible to sign a pre-contract with an international team in January.

According to The Record, “a number” of elite European teams are keeping a careful eye on “his situation.” If the player leaves, Villa would only be compensated €270,000 by any team that has a Category 1 academy.

The Record claims that Wilson and Villa are at odds over a deal because there is “no pathway” for Wilson to get into Unai Emery’s starting lineup. The Scotland Under-21 international has not yet played for the team as a senior.

Following a season in which he scored 49 goals for both club and country, Wilson signed a contract with Villa in July 2022. Rangers are reportedly expected to receive a 10% cut of the forward’s future contract.

“We are delighted that Rory has joined us having had a number of clubs interested in signing him,” academy manager Mark Harrison said on the Villa website upon his signing. Having scored goals at the youth international level for Scotland, he is a goal scorer with a lot of potential. We are forward to watch how he grows with us and, maybe, play for our first team in the future. He has a great work ethic and a growth-oriented mindset.
