Paul Krause. In my opinion, one of the best safeties of the game that never gets brought up. We have sooo many underrated players in Viking history.

Washington (1964–1967) selected Krause in the second round of the NFL draft. As a rookie, he led the NFL in interceptions (12) and was selected to the First Team All-Pro. From 1968 to 1979, he spent most of his playing days with the Vikings. He intercepted passes in six straight games during his rookie season with the Vikings. He still owns the NFL record for most interceptions (81), and his 10 in 1975 are still a club record.

Krause participated in eight Pro Bowls and started at safety for all four of the Vikings’ Super Bowl appearances (IV, VII, IX, and XI). In 1998, he was inducted into the Vikings Ring of Honor and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
