Norwegian Air flight declares emergency and circles Suffolk

This afternoon, an aircraft that had declared an emergency on board circled above Suffolk.

The Norwegian Air flight was due to land at Gothenberg Airport in Sweden at 4.30 pm, but it departed from London Gatwick Airport at around 1:50 pm.

The aircraft transmitted a Squawk 7700 while in the air, indicating the presence of an emergency.

Prior to arriving in Suffolk, the aircraft made a circuit over Norfolk.

Over Stoke-by-Clare, Needham Market, and Ipswich, the aircraft was spotted.

At Essex’s Stansted Airport, the Boeing 737-8JP has now touched down.
