Jeacock makes loan move to Southend

Zach Jeacock has joined Vanarama National League side Southend United on loan until January.

Jeacock joined the Imps from Birmingham City in the summer and has appeared four times, including two in Sky Bet League One, keeping a clean sheet against Wigan.

City’s director of football, Jez George, stated: “The plan when we signed Zach was for him to go out on loan to get games. This has been delayed three times owing to Jamie Pardington’s pre-season injury, George Wickens’ head injury at Peterborough, and Zach’s need to go through a concussion protocol. We are thrilled that Southend has waited for Zach and that he may now begin to compete for a position in their starting XI.

“We have protection in this arrangement that covers every possible possibility in our goalkeeping department for the period of the loan, so it’s a win-win situation. Zach is an extraordinarily talented young goalkeeper whom we signed as ‘one for the future’, and we look forward to tracking his growth over the next three months before reevaluating the situation in January. Southend United are a significant club at their level, with a large fan base and strong expectations, so this is an excellent opportunity for Zach.”
