Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler makes honest touchline admission after Premier League move

Fabian Hurzeler, the head coach of Brighton & Hove Albion, has relived his path to the Premier League and acknowledges that his competitive nature can irritate certain people.

When Fabian Hurzeler reflects on his touchline antics, he acknowledges that he does not recognise himself.

Hurzeler, 31, a Brighton leader, is not only youthful but also extraordinarily gifted and motivated. When he is instructing his players from the sidelines, he is also incredibly animated.

Hurzeler acknowledges that opponents thought he was a “a**hole” player and that his upbringing was in an extremely competitive, motivated, and intellectual German household. Thus, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he is driven to be successful in anything he does. And since taking over at Brighton in the summer, he has rapidly left his mark.

Hurzeler declared: “It’s real.” Actors are not required of me. That’s just my personality. To be honest, I think to myself when I watch myself on the sidelines, “Are you crazy? It’s unbelievable. How come you’re there?

“Because I’m tranquil in my everyday existence. I make an effort to think clearly and to feel less emotionally. Would you say that I’m more stoic? Football is my passion, but I also think it’s crucial. Thus, I can truly sense it while I’m outside on a training ground; I have a strong need for it.

“I’m very emotional on the sidelines and invested in it because I truly feel like I’m with the boys and I understand how they feel on the pitch. I want the guys to really improve every day and I want them to deserve what they worked for.” I make an effort to assist and encourage them.

“That’s why sometimes I get very emotional, but it’s a very positive thing that I don’t have to be artificial. It’s just myself, that’s my personality. I’m very happy that I don’t have to be an actor.”

Hurzeler has already made a big impression at Brighton

Hurzeler was born in the United States, where his parents were employed at the time as dentists and experts in their fields. His father insisted on cycling on wet mornings instead of taking the automobile, and he has two sisters who have achieved great success in business and judo, as well as a brother who is a pilot.

“Honestly, some guys that I played against would say, ‘what an arsehole,'” Hurzeler remarked. I was never there for my teammates; instead, I always took charge and was there for them. I was a captain and a leader.

Brighton have lost just one of Hurzeler’s seven Premier League matches at the helm.

“I constantly went to defend them, and I always tried to win the game and protect my teammates. If a referee made a mistake call, I went hard on him. Winning the game was always the main goal. That was ingrained in Bayern Munich’s culture from the very beginning.

For their URC match against Stormers in Cape Town, Munster makes five changes from the squad that lost to Leinster at Croke Park.

Jack O’Donoghue moves from flanker to number eight, allowing Shane Daly, Conor Murray, John Ryan, Tom Ahern, and Emerging Ireland standout Alex Kendellen to all enter the starting lineup.

Mike Haley starts at full-back, Calvin Nash on the right wing, and Daly, who is back from an elbow injury, starts on the left wing.

On his 197th Munster appearance, Murray starts with Jack Crowley in the half-backs while Alex Nankivell and Tom Farrell maintain their centre partnership.

Ryan, Niall Scannell, and Jeremy Loughman make up the front row, with Jean Kleyn and skipper Tadhg Beirne in the engine room.

Hurzeler’s last two games have been high-scoring affairs with Chelsea and Tottenham
