Reading FC stadium slammed by popular radio station

Adrian Durham, a writer for TalkSPORT, has declared The Select Car Leasing, home of Reading, the worst stadium in League One.

Durham is one of the top announcers in the nation and a fan of Peterborough United. He hosted the popular Drive Time program for more than 15 years.

Not to be outdone, the writer ranked everyone in each league to commemorate finishing ‘the 92’, which involved visiting every stadium in the top four divisions.

The SCL Stadium, formerly Madejski Stadium from 1998 until 2021, finished bottom of the League One ranking.

“Reading have gone bottom of the table, it’s soporific,” he said. It’s just so boring and uninteresting. You’ll fall asleep as a result. Nothing to love exists there. It’s hardly even a football stadium in my opinion. Although I’ve watched a lot of other sports there, I know it is.

“To be honest, I can’t take it. It’s not my favourite thing at all. Their former stadium, Elm Park, was excellent. It was really near.

Peterborough’s London Road was voted best since it’s where he “fell in love with football,” although the ardent supporter conceded that “it wouldn’t get in many people’s top 92.”

The top three included Valley, home of Charlton Athletic, and Bloomfield Road, where Blackpool is based.
