Norwich City buoyed by other potential injury concerns
Despite Gunn’s injury concerns, Thorup was mainly optimistic about the other possible issues ahead of the trip to Staffordshire, providing updates on Marcelino Nunez [shown] and Jose Cordoba.
The player withdrew from international duty with Chile due to a hamstring injury, after playing the full 90 minutes in a triumph over the Tigers just before the break.
Cordoba also did not play any games while overseas with Panama, claiming knee soreness as the cause for his absence, but the City manager is not concerned about their long-term health.
The Dane expressed optimism about Nunez, stating that he may contribute on the pitch today and tomorrow.
“We had him in the day after the game (Hull City) and it was not that good but he went for a scan and it was better than expected.”
“They (Panama) wanted to see him [Cordoba], which is absolutely acceptable. It was okay for him to return and see his family.
“He was unable to play due to knee injury. It’s not really an injury; it’s just possible overuse, so we need to be careful.”

Since moving from Bromley last summer, the 20-year-old has established himself as a top Championship operator.
With 10 points from their past 12 games, the Canaries will be hoping to maintain their good recent success when domestic football resumes, but without the dependable Gunn in goal, Thorup may have to change his game plan to deal with the threat that the hosts may bring.
However, the news surrounding Cordoba and Nunez appears to be good for the East Anglian club, with both playing a role in their side’s recent recovery prior to the enforced two-week break from Championship games.
