Derek Beaumont, the owner of the Leigh Leopards, has celebrated his team’s run to the Super League semifinals as everyone had anticipated, taking a caustic jab at the two teams that were defeated this past weekend.

The victory over Salford Red Devils on Friday night put the Lions 80 minutes away from making their Super League Grand Final debut.

They will take on the defending champions Wigan Warriors on Saturday at the Brick Community Stadium. On Friday night, the Wire and Hull KR played in the other semifinal, which was decided in dramatic fashion by Warrington Wolves against St Helens.

Beaumont has also gone to X to congratulate Leigh on his victory and maybe to take a jab at the two clubs that were defeated in the first round of the playoffs.

Beaumont snapped a selfie outside the Super League sponsor Betfred store to inquire about the likelihood of a Salford vs. St Helens matchup.

“Hey Fred ⁦@Betfred⁩, what are the chances of a ⁦@SalfordDevils⁩ vs ⁦@Saints1890⁩ grand final in the ⁦@SuperLeague⁩, or am I just catching up a little bit too late?” he wrote.

Beaumont has already utilized social media to appease opponents and celebrate victories, and we doubt this will be the last instance.

Next Saturday night, when the much awaited latest installment of the Battle of the Borough takes place, the Leopards will be in the news once more. It looks like an exciting competition.
