‘We’ve got the feel for it now’ – Davis on Town’s hunt for first top tier win.

Leif Davis, a defender for Flying Ipswich Town, thinks the team will soon win its first Premier League match.

The Blues’ thrilling 2-2 draw with Champions League team Aston Villa yesterday extended their winning streak to four games in the top division.

Town could have won, according to Villa manager Unai Emery, who also acknowledged that the Blues had opportunities to win all three points in their 1-1 draw with Fulham in Suffolk last month.

The Blues have played six Premier League games so far this season; they have won two, drawn four, and lost two. This is their next goal to accomplish.

We might have had it today,” Davis remarked following the match. “And thereafter as well against Fulham.

“Who knows, but I believe we did deserve something in the game. We’re just focusing hard on ourselves, and results can come anyplace.

“We have four wins, but they are not victories. As the manager has stated, there are still more to come. That’s a good four points on the board.

“We still need to make the next move in terms of sprinting, wanting to play, and having the guts to play from the back, as we did the previous season.

“We’re taking it game-by-game, but it will all come.” For the time being, we’re just trying to do what we can.

Davis, who was a threat down the left all game against Villa, added: “I think we’ve got the feel for it now.

We haven’t had the smoothest of starts; ours has been really difficult. There will be no easy games in the Premier League; each one will present a unique challenge.

“We established ourselves early in the contest and have nearly always forced teams to the last moments of the game.

In the season’s opening match, we forced Liverpool to go to areas they didn’t want to be—dark places.

We probably did the same thing today. We must persevere and get better each day and in every game.
