Aston Villa ‘weighing up’ move for £32.8m Premier League outcast.

The most recent Premier League transfer rumors as Aston Villa considers acquiring a £32.8 million West Ham misfit.

Felipe Anderson, a former West Ham United winger, is apparently being courted by Aston Villa, who have the option to buy him for nothing. The 30-year-old’s current deal with Lazio expires in June of this year. He joined the team after unsuccessful stints with the Hammers and Porto.

Recent weeks have demonstrated Unai Emery’s desire to expand his forward options at Villa Park, as rumors have grown and several names have been connected. The three other positions that need to be filled are right-back, goalkeeper, and central midfield; however, as Villa aspires to win in several different tournaments, a dynamic forward is preferred.

According to Sky Sports, Villa is reportedly seriously considering signing Anderson, and negotiations are currently ongoing. With precisely 300 Lazio matches under his belt and 54 goals and 62 assists, the former Brazil international is reportedly attracting interest from Juventus as well.

Would Villa really bring in Felipe Anderson?

Although the attacker’s figures are impressive in Serie A, it’s tricky to see why Villa would prioritise him over other options. For starters, Emery would have to wait until the summer to make use of Anderson, while his numbers at West Ham weren’t exactly convincing.

His nine goals and four assists in his debut Premier League season were respectable, but his next and final season saw just one goal in 25 league games, raising many questions. After that, Anderson struggled while on loan at Porto, appearing in just ten games before returning to Lazio.

Naturally, Anderson is slightly more alluring given that he wouldn’t cost a dime to entice from Italy—West Ham once spent £32.8 million on him—but the wage demands would likely result in a different outcome. However, the rumor is true, and it comes from a reliable source as well.
