Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team announced the following:

After playing 44 games for the Steelers and Raiders from 2014-2018, Bryant was out of football for nearly five years before joining the Cowboys’ practice squad on Nov. 8.

Despite his 17 career touchdowns and 6-4 frame, the Cowboys never elevated him for game day, despite his unique skill set.

On Thursday, the only receivers removed from the practice squad were Tyron Billy-Johnson and Bryant. Racey McMath and Jalen Cropper are still receivers on the practice squad.

Given that Bryant was never even given the opportunity to play in a game, the decision is somewhat surprising. Bryant has averaged just over four touchdowns and close to 550 yards every season throughout his career.
