Cowboys have chance to extend wild NFC East streak by beating Commanders

Cowboys have chance to extend wild NFC East streak by beating Commanders.

Despite not playing on Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys are suddenly in a favorable position going into their Week 18 matchup. This is because the Arizona Cardinals stunned the Philadelphia Eagles at home, and the Cowboys now have a chance to win the NFC East.

With their thrilling 21-20 victory over the Detroit Lions on Saturday night, the Cowboys raised their record to 11-5. The Eagles’ record dropped to that same level at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia after they were defeated by the Cardinals 35–31.

The Cowboys will win the division if quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, and the team triumph against the Washington Commanders on the road in Week 18. Dallas will defeat the Eagles in a tiebreaker since they will have a superior conference record. The Eagles are 7-4 against NFC clubs, while the Cowboys are 8-3 against them.

In the event that Dallas prevails in the division, the NFC East will have gone 18 years without having a repeat champion.

The division lead has belonged to the Eagles the majority of the season, but head coach Nick Sirianni has seen his team lose 4 of its last 5 games, and that’s why the Cowboys have a great chance to clinch the division title.

This season, the Cowboys have been a formidable force at AT&T Stadium, concluding the home schedule with an 8-0 record. They will take against the Commanders at FedEx Field, but they are only 3–5 on the road right now.

The Eagles will earn the division title if they defeat the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in the regular-season finale, even if the Cowboys lose at Washington.
