Saints HC Dennis Allen’s fired-up reaction to crucial win over Buccaneers
In Week 17, Dennis Allen and the New Orleans Saints defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to maintain their chances of making
the playoffs. After seeing his Saints win, Allen was ecstatic and couldn’t control himself.
New Orleans prevailed 23–13 in the end. According to Allen, the Saints responded by playing with a playoff attitude since they
understood their chances of winning were slim. According to Katherine Terrell of ESPN, Allen’s team reacted when New Orleans needed a significant victory.
They limited the Tampa Bay Bucs to just 57 yards on the ground, stifling their run game. They also had twointerceptions of Baker Mayfield and maintained the lead to seal the victory.
The Saints aren’t quite out of the picture yet. With a victory over the Carolina Panthers in Week 18, Tampa Bay canstill secure the NFC South. On the other hand, New Orleans will win the NFC South if they lose and the Saints defeat the Atlanta Falcons. The Saints’ route to postseason contention wasn’t exactly the easiest one. They have gone through multiple two-
game winning streaks and three-game losing streaks, alternating between victories and losses. But according to
Allen, New Orleans executed their whole game plan in their Week 17 victory over the Buccaneers.
If they hope to punch their ticket to the postseason, Tampa Bay will have to provide a little assistance.
However, in Week 18, the Saints played their part. After the victory, Dennis Allen felt energized and hopes that New
Orleans’ momentum continues into the last regular-season game.
