Potential overly-simplistic solution to Saints red zone problems

The New Orleans Saints haven’t exactly lit up the scoreboard when they have gotten into the red zone. Here is a potential remedy for the Saints red zone woes.

Now that the Saints are where they are in the season, it’s time to just put up your hands and say, “to heck with it” (this is the clean version). Then, as those hands come down, start tossing ideas at the wall to see what sticks.

It’s no secret that the Saints have experienced problems when they have been fortunate enough to enter the red zone. However, based on some statistics, there appears to be one extremely straightforward remedy that suggests we might be on to something.

Jimmy Graham’s return to the Big Easy as a tight end has been one of the few heartwarming stories of this season. Even though he’s definitely a far cry from his best days, when he and Drew Brees used to play defense every week, it’s still entertaining to see him score touchdowns while wearing a Saints outfit. Hey, you have to enjoy yourselves wherever you can right now, don’t you?

Hemmmy, indeed.

Canaries are flying over our heads because we have been pounding our heads against the wall in an attempt to fix the Saints’ problems in the red zone. It begs the obvious question now: Why don’t they just toss it to Graham in the red zone more frequently?

Even if he isn’t as quick as he once was, at 6’7″, he still presents a formidable target with his very strong hops.

Look, this isn’t the most sophisticated red zone strategy for the New Orleans Saints. Obviously, we are aware of that. But why not, simultaneously?
