‘No excuses’ – Luke Shaw makes damning Man Utd assessment ahead of Aston Villa

‘No excuses’ – Luke Shaw makes damning Man Utd assessment ahead of Aston Villa.

BirminghamLive offers the most recent Aston Villa news, with Luke Shaw calling for United to defeat Unai Emery’s Villa.

Luke Shaw feels there are ‘no excuses’ for Manchester United’s recent poor performance.

Luke Shaw has insisted that Manchester United’s dismal performances cannot be justified and has called on them to instantly turn things around against Aston Villa on Boxing Day.

United fell to a 2-0 on Saturday and are winless in their last three games.

Injuries have also played a major part in the team’s form, with 32 cases of injury or illness contributing to their worst start to a season since 1930.

That has been a factor in the team’s struggles and while Shaw agreed, he insisted there can’t be any excuses for their performances.

“We can’t feel sorry for ourselves, we have to pick ourselves up and go again because it’s a home game and we can’t keep dropping points. We have to win games,” Shaw told TNT Sports.

“It’s difficult [to stay positive] but it’s our job. We have to stay positive, this is Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the world, and it’s not good enough, the results that have been coming and we know that. We have to dig deep and have to look at ourselves in the mirror and question ourselves and go from there.

“To be quite honest, there are no justifications. Any player who plays for Manchester United must be skilled enough to win games; I really can’t say any more. We know it’s not good enough, but we can’t look at excuses since it’s difficult and there have been many injuries. Many Premier League teams are suffering from injuries, so we can’t be making excuses.”
