Cowboys’ Jayron Kearse Bullied on Social Media following Brutal Week 15 Loss

Cowboys supporters have undoubtedly revealed their true selves following a humiliating social media post.

Without a doubt, the NFL’s most contentious team is the Dallas Cowboys. Over the past few years, it’s practically become a game—there are those who genuinely love them and those who utterly detest them. Unfortunately for Dallas, supporters tend to take things a bit too far and find it hard to comprehend that the players are simply human.

Cowboys’ Jayron Kearse hacked by Angry Fans after Tough Loss

This brings us to this week’s events that followed Dallas’ heartbreaking defeat at the hands of the Buffalo Bills. Disgruntled fans broke into Dallas safety Jayron Kearse and Juananyeh Thomas’ social media accounts after the game. Following the attack, followers posted private information online, including Kearse’s home location and Thomas’ phone number.

The Buffalo running game utterly destroyed the Dallas defense during the game, which incited the fans’ fury. Kearse then took to social media to voice his dissatisfaction with the game’s officiating. It seems that a sizable portion of the fan base believed Kearse’s effort was more of the issue than the officiating.

Thomas intervened on behalf of Kearse following the hack when followers quickly broke into both accounts and posted the private data online. It makes sense that Thomas was very offended by the invasion of his and his teammate’s privacy.

Thomas acknowledged that he missed three tackles against the Bills that may have had a significant impact on the outcome, but he noted, “I can take criticism.” However, there is a real boundary that you cross when you begin acting foolishly in that way. You have to draw a boundary when it comes to disclosing personal information like phone numbers and addresses. It’s still a game at the end of the day. Individuals have lives.

It’s a brutal world that we live in where fans can’t accept the fact that while these are professional athletes and get paid enormous sums to play the game, they are also people who shouldn’t be subject to levels of criticism above what regular people like you and I deal with on a regular basis.  Dallas fans have certainly always had a reputation of being over the top but this was a step too far.

After the Philadelphia Eagles humiliated the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football, Dallas is still the top seed in the

NFC and leads the NFC East despite the setback. As long as Dallas plays well in their next three games of the season, they can effectively stay in the driver’s seat in the NFC for the duration of the campaign, even with the taunts from the supporters.
