Fulham set to lose Adarabioyo

Tosin Adarabioyo, a 26-year-old center defense for Fulham, could leave the team in 2024.

Adarabioyo is anticipated to depart during the summer transfer window when his contract expires, according to a report from Peter Rutzler and Adam Leventhal of The Athletic. Adarabioyo has turned down Fulham’s most recent contract offer.

Although Fulham has made every effort to retain the defender, it has never appeared likely that they would sign him again. Adarabioyo has the opportunity to select his next club from a wide range of possibilities and earn a substantial salary as a free agent.

Now the question becomes if Fulham keep him for the rest of the season, given he’s made just three Premier League starts, or if they can find someone willing to pay a small fee for a sale so that they do not lose him in the summer.

Adarabioyo has no future with the Cottagers at this stage, so all the minutes he’d get should go to other defenders anyway.

Manchester City won’t make winter signings

The Athletic’s David Ornstein says Manchester City currently do not plan on making any signings in the January transfer window.

It makes sense for City to stand pat, even though they are actually off the pace in the title race and now have Tottenham and Aston Villa to contend with, in addition to Arsenal and a rebounding Liverpool.

Top clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester City rarely make winter signings, because many of them end up being desperation overpay moves.

City have plenty of money to burn, yes, but getting rid of players who aren’t good enough for the club ends up becoming a problem in and of itself that goes beyond any financial bottom line.

While the Citizens could fortify their depth, the reality is that they need to focus on making tweaks to their current squad and wait for Kevin De Bruyne’s health. The likes of Jérémy Doku and Joško Gvardiol, for example, have added a lot to this team.

Interest in Aston Villa’s Coutinho

Aston Villa signed Philippe Coutinho permanently from Barcelona in 2022, ending the former Liverpool magician’s tumultuous time in LaLiga.

Currently on loan to Al-Duhail in Qatar’s premier professional division, Coutinho was once one of the best players in the Premier division. Vasco da Gama is reportedly showing some interest in Coutinho in his native Brazil, according to Diario Sport.

Despite his recent fall from glory, the 31-year-old Coutinho still has the ability to work magic and create excitement when he signs. His profile can help clubs like Al-Duhail and Vasco de Gama.

Conversely, Aston Villa is in no need of the seasoned playmaker. They already boast a fantastic crop of young, talented attackers. They can easily move on from Coutinho, and they’ll be hoping for offers.
