Report addresses whether Dennis Allen could be fired by Saints

With their Thursday night loss, the New Orleans Saints dropped to 7-8, severely hurting their chances of making the playoffs.

In certain quarters, the loss also raised concerns about head coach Dennis Allen’s employment status.

However, until the Saints utterly implode down the stretch, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network believes Allen’s job status is secure.

According to what I understand, Dennis Allen is doing well. This is always open to change, of course, if things go horribly wrong

at the end of the year, Rapoport stated on NFL Network.

“They won’t be leaving their current location anytime soon, which is one of the reasons. The players on your roster are aging and becoming less active.

They will need to rebuild if they are to succeed, and that doesn’t seem like something you can accomplish with a brand-new

coach. Besides, you won’t be able to do it next season.

Derek Carr, the Saints’ pricey veteran quarterback, is one of many expensive veterans that the team truly cannot afford

to let go of. Allen might have an additional degree of job security just from that.

Allen is 14-18 since taking over for Sean Payton following the 2021 season.
