Cowboys’ Dak Prescott, Tony Pollard Named NFL’s ‘Best’ in 2 Unexpected Categories

Dak Prescott’s significant improvements in a crucial area this season have propelled the Dallas Cowboys far into the NFC East title contest.

This season, through 14 games, Prescott has completed 3,639 yards of passing with 28 touchdowns to just seven interceptions. Compared to his 15 interceptions in 2022 and his 10 in 2021, Prescott’s interception total has drastically decreased.

According to ESPN’s Matt Bowen, Prescott is the quarterback in the league this season with the highest decision-making ability.

“A season subsequent to sharing the league-highest number of interceptions (15),” notes Brown. “Prescott is tied for sixth-fewest with seven through 14 games. Additionally, he has the second-best Total QBR in the league this season (72.7), and he’s using the ball wisely, particularly in critical game at the moment.

Prescott’s turnaround has been one of the more impressive storylines of the 2023 NFL season. Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn suggests it shouldn’t come as a surprise.

“The first thing that jumps out is that he is an elite competitor,” Quinn told reporters in November. “Like, elite. There are guys in our league that are excellent competitors — I mean, quite honestly, every person whose playing in this league is — but then just like most things, he’s the special forces of competitors. He’s at the top of the top.”
