Rams Injury Updates: Ahkello Witherspoon, Rob Havenstein & Tutu Atwell Expected To Play Against Saints

With a convincing victory over the Washington Commanders in Week 15, the Los Angeles Rams are making their preseason forecasts seem ridiculous and have secured the last NFC Wild Card place.

As the Rams moved up to the seventh spot and increased their prospects of making the postseason, the Green Bay Packers lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But with Thursday Night Football against the New Orleans Saints, they don’t have much time to celebrate.

Players tend to loathe the quick turnaround from Sunday to Thursday, but Los Angeles has no choice but to get themselves as ready as possible. It’s a crucial game for both squads as the Rams look to hold off the other NFC teams in the hunt, while the Saints battle for the NFC South crown.

Fortunately for L.A., Sean McVay expects them to be at near full-strength when New Orleans comes to town, via Greg Beacham of AP:

Sean McVay expects CB Ahkello Witherspoon, RT Rob Havenstein and WR Tutu Atwell to be available to play Thursday vs New Orleans. No other major injuries apparently popped up yesterday, which is huge for the Rams on a short week.

Due to groin issues, Ahkello Witherspoon and Rob Havenstein were designated as limited players on Monday. Tutu Atwell, who missed Week 15 due to a concussion, was a full participant. The Rams, who must win the remaining games to secure their berth, will benefit greatly from having those three on the field on Thursday.

As Chris Olave, the team’s premier receiver, sprained his ankle and missed practice, the Saints are struggling on both sides of the ball. Ryan Ramczyk was also absent from the offense, and Kendre Miller missed practice due to ailments to his ankle and knee, respectively.

Health is usually the main reason why a team does or doesn’t make the playoffs, and Los Angeles has to be happy that their roster’s getting back to full strength at this point of the year. However, they still have to play disciplined football if they hope to take down a New Orleans team battling for their playoff lives.

Aaron Donald still shocked at some of the throws Matthew Stafford makes

Matthew Stafford has managed to avoid serious injury this year, and he’s looked like his normal self on the field. Stafford’s made some incredible throws during the season and Aaron Donald admitted he’s still shocked to see some of them.
