Sean Dyche now gives a fresh verdict on Everton points deduction

Prior to his return to Turf Moor, Sean Dyche has been offering his updated assessment of Everton’s point deduction from earlier in the season.

Earlier in the season, Everton suffered an extraordinary points deduction that proved to be a devastating blow to the Toffees.

That worry, however, was unfounded as Sean Dyche put together a really strong run of play that ended their relegation struggle quickly.

This indicates that Everton will likely escape being forced back into a bottom of the league battle, a development that has earned Dyche high appreciation.

Instead, Everton could find themselves battling the likes of Chelsea in mid table by the time this year draws to a close. Especially considering there are winnable games between now and New Year.

Dyche now faces the prospect of returning to his former stomping ground where he forged his managerial name, something he isn’t dedicating much thought to.

Dyche said: “When the whistle blows, I want to win”, When asked what he was feeling about his return.

Before continuing that he feels a bond building with the Everton fans and said: “I am willing to earn it [their respect], I am willing to put the hard yards in.”

Sean Dyche press conference – on points deduction

Dyche was speaking in his pre-game press conference on Thursday in which he was quizzed over Everton’s recent form and his thoughts on appealing the deduction.

First, Dyche refuted claims that Everton’s recent performance has been motivated by the points deduction.

Before that, the team was performing admirably. Although we appear to be a competitive squad, the task was already being completed.

Dyche went on to provide an update on Everton’s chances of contesting their deduction.

“We need to act like it’s a done deal now,” he stated. Everything good that happens to us will be a bonus.

Sean Dyche makes point deduction a worry of the past

Even though the deduction was unjustified, Everton would have been soaring high and just seven points out of fifth place else.

However, Dyche’s commendation is well-deserved because he made an unsettling deduction seem like an afterthought.

By the conclusion of the season, this current form can make the deduction seem insignificant.
