Paul Brown shares whether Jarrad Branthwaite will exit in January amid ‘unsustainable’ Everton situation

According to Paul Brown, a few teams are trying to see if they can recruit defender Jarrad Branthwaite in

a “bargain” deal by taking advantage of Everton’s financial predicament.

The former Daily Star journalist claimed in an interview with GiveMeSport on Wednesday, December 13, that the Toffees’ reliance on loans from 777 Partners to fund its operations is “unsustainable.”

He thinks there is a “little window of opportunity” for teams to come in and sign the England U-21 international, but the Blues will do everything in their power to hang onto him.

That is the issue that Everton face and because clubs know it, I think there are a few clubs circling thinking

they can get a bargain out of Everton because they can take advantage of their financial position,” said Brown.

You must keep in mind that the club is currently dependent on monthly loans from a possible buyer

to stay afloat, and that cannot continue.

“Thus, I believe Everton will exert every effort to retain Braithwaite; however, I believe other clubs are

attempting to capitalize on the brief window of opportunity that exists there.”

Can’t let it happen

There is absolutely no way that Everton can afford to let Branthwaite go in January after his performances over the past few months.

The center back, who secured a spot in the starting lineup after veteran players failed to find any consistency in the first few weeks of the season, has been instrumental in helping the team turn around their fortunes.

The news that clubs are considering a move for the Englishman is hardly shocking given his demonstrated strength in the tackle and skill with the ball.

With three straight clean sheets under their belt, the Toffees have one of the greatest defensive records in the

Premier League. This season, they have played excellent defense.

In the hopes that he will still be at Goodison Park when the January transfer market closes, the Blues will be

hoping for the defender to keep helping them move up the table this season.
