Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta urged to Replace Gabriel Jesus with Aston Villa’s Best Striker in  January transfer

Mikel Arteta urged to replace Gabriel Jesus with ideal Arsenal transfer in January

With a loss to Aston Villa, Arsenal faltered in the Premier League title chase, exposing Mikel Arteta’s future possibilities as Gabriel Jesus fails to score goals.

Gabriel Jesus

Mikel Arteta has been advised by Arsenal legend David Seaman to prioritise Ollie Watkins during the January transfer window.

Third-place Aston Villa upset the Gunners on Saturday, ending their chances of winning the Premier League title.

With 12 shots overall and 62 percent of the possession, the visitors dominated the most of the game.

However, Arteta’s team managed just five shots on goal, meaning they were unable to seriously challenge Villa keeper Emiliano Martinez.

Gabriel Jesus led the line, despite the fact that he has only scored two goals in the Premier League this year, with Arsenal having the fewest goals among the current top four.

According to Seaman, there appears to be a scoring problem that has to be fixed immediately.

Ollie Watkins

The former goalkeeper has emphasised Villa star Watkins as the ideal candidate for Arsenal’s needs after winning three Premier League titles with the Gunners.

“[Watkins] is a worthy mention. Yes, given that he is a box striker.

When asked about prospective January targets, Seaman said on his Seaman Says podcast, “I like that he doesn’t get too involved in the build-up play.”

“There are moments when I see Jesus too far away, and I tell him to come back to the centre.

Everyone is talking about how the team would benefit from adding a new striker.

Arteta was left cursing his team’s carelessness in front of goal as they lost for the second time this season.

Although he accepted responsibility for the defeat, the manager stressed that his team must improve.

“I’m very disappointed with the result, especially with the way we played, I think we deserved much more than what we had,

I thought we were the better team, I haven’t seen a team do what we did to Villa today since we were here in February,” Arteta stated.

“It wasn’t enough to win it because we lacked the accuracy in the opponent’s box to put the ball in the back of the

net with the amount of situations that we generated. We had so many big opportunities, some of them we didn’t even finish when they were completely open.

“There’s not much more we can ask of the players than to play every three days, but we

had to choose the correct player to shoot, and when we did it twice or three times, it was virtually an open goal and we didn’t manage to score.

“I am incredibly happy with the way they played, but I’m also unhappy because we didn’t get the outcome we were hoping for.

“I believe that there was some wind today. A lot of balls are misplaced, and some passes require the proper touch and accuracy. I’m not sure, but I definitely have responsibilities. I must accept it.
