Transfer target to watch Michigan football, along with further Jim Harbaugh information

Upton Stout, a transfer portal target, will play football at Michigan. Also, what’s the status of Jim Harbaugh’s new contract?

Michigan football is anticipated to be active in the transfer portal for the second consecutive year. A target is already scheduled to visit, and the Wolverines have already extended a few proposals.

That’s Upton Stout, a former defensive back for Western Kentucky. He is a 5-foot-9 defensive back who appears to be Mike Sainristil’s replacement in the slot.

Stout is going to visit Michigan football and USC according to a report from Steve Lorenz of The Michigan Insider.

Stout only played in seven games this season for Western Kentucky but was productive with 29 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 0.5 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble, and eight pass breakups. The defensive back also has two career defensive touchdowns.

Just from looking at the stats, you can see the ball skills. He would be a really solid addition and would help fill that Nickel role that’s been played by Mikey and Daxton Hill for the past three seasons.

Will Jim Harbaugh sign his contract offer?

It was reported on Thursday that Michigan football has extended a five-year, $55 million deal to Jim Harbaugh. However, we don’t know if Jim will sign it.

It is intended for the phrase to contain an assurance that Harbaugh will not pursue an NFL career this offseason. There might be other issues, though, that are still up for negotiation.

Although I don’t think the NCAA probe will ever uncover anything more serious or have any connection to Harbaugh, I’m sure both sides are attempting to include language to shield themselves.

I find it difficult to watch Jim disappear into suspicion. However, this NCAA dance must be growing stale. I’m hoping Michigan can reassure him about the deal enough for him to sign it. Additionally, I hope that occurs as quickly as possible because recruiting requires it.
