The Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb is turning into an Eagle killer very rapidly.

Despite all the hoopla surrounding Dak Prescott’s 8-4 record versus the Eagles, CeeDee Lamb may soon top the list of Philadelphia’s public enemies.

This season, the Eagles secondary has not performed well. They were the league leaders in 2022, allowing just 179.8 passing yards per contest. They’re giving up 260.3 yards per game this year, which is the fourth-highest in the league. Every week, opposing wide receivers—and none more so than Lamb—crowd the stat sheet.

Against the Eagles in Week 9, Lamb had 11 receptions for a career-high 191 yards. To put that into perspective, Philadelphia had six other players catch passes that day, yet their combined gain was sixteen yards more than Lamb’s. Dallas ended up losing 28-23, but Lamb gave the Eagles a plenty to think about.

Lamb’s performance that day was no fluke. A week earlier, he also set a career-high with 158 yards against the Rams. But if Philly fans have any doubt, they should check out last year’s box scores.

Lost in the sauce, CeeDee Lamb had a career high in receiving yards. 11 catches for 191 yards. Second week in a row he hits a career high.

On Christmas Eve, the Cowboys and Eagles met for the next-to-last game of the 2022 regular season. This time, Dallas got the win thanks to 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns from Lamb. Running back Tony Pollard was the team’s second-leading receiver with 61 yards, so in a game that saw two Eagles receivers (A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith) also top 100 yards, it’s fair to say Lamb carried the team that day.

His 36-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter was three yards shy of his season-high but nowhere near the longest catch of his career. Lamb’s longest reception came during his rookie season, and you’ll never guess who it came against.

Although the fourth-year receiver has made 100-yard games and 1,000-yard seasons his norm, he narrowly missed the latter in 2020 with 935 yards. The longest reception of Lamb’s career was a 52-yard grab against Philadelphia in Week 16, although wide receiver Amari Cooper topped the team with 1,114 yards that season.

This week, when the Eagles come to AT&T Stadium, can he surpass it? His chances are very good now that Philadelphia has given up a 100-yard receiver in four of their previous five games. Lamb appears to have the Eagles covered, and come Sunday night, he’ll probably put up massive numbers.
