The Green Bay Packers Get Star Cornerback Jaire Alexander Back At Practice Today

Packers return to the practice field this week for the first time.Darnell Savage, Quay Walker, and Christian Watson didn’t practice.

Jaire Alexander and Aaron Jones worked out.

Alexander has missed the last few games due to a shoulder ailment. Though he doesn’t necessarily have to practice on Thursday to get back on the 53-man roster this week, he does seem to be making progress. Practice on Thursday does not guarantee his return because he was limited all previous week before being ruled out.

Getting Alexander Back Would Be Huge For This Defense

At his position, Alexander is among the greatest in the league. It would be a tremendous help to have him back on a defence that ranks in the top 10 in terms of points allowed per game. Before Alexander was ruled out of their game against the Chiefs on December 3, defensive coordinator Joe Barry made the following comments about his absence:

Defensive coordinator Joe Barry described Alexander as “a guy that is highly competitive and arguably the best at his craft at his position” following practice on Thursday. “He desires to be in the open. It’s been fantastic. He’s had a rather excellent day so far, both today and yesterday.
