Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Everton Defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

That is according to talkSPORT, which has noted a potential hurdle that Tottenham could face in their quest to bring Branthwaite to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite

TalkSPORT claims that Tottenham Hotspur is interested in acquiring Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite.

Spurs are “keeping a close eye on the 21-year-old center-back,” according to the report.

Tottenham could have a challenge, though. TalkSPORT reports that the teenage player, described by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp as “a really good left-footed centre-half” in the News & Star in October 2023, is also attracting interest from Manchester United and Newcastle United.

The article further states that even though Everton has signed Branthwaite to a new deal, the Merseyside team knows that due to financial difficulties, they may eventually need to trade the English defender. This season, the Toffees are also fighting for their lives in the Premier League.

For Spurs, Jarrad Branthwaite would be an excellent addition.

Jarrad Branthwaite, a defender for Everton, seems like a fantastic addition for Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs may be able to complete a deal in the summer of 2023, but I do not believe the North London team will be able to sign the young player in the January transfer window.

Spurs now have two primary center backs in Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, but there is always room for more. Branthwaite, in my opinion, would provide Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou with an excellent backup option.

This season, Branthwaite has made 11 appearances for Everton in the Premier League. In the Carabao Cup, the defender has made two appearances.
