Ayoung Celtic winger’s is willing to exit the club.

Italy is showing a renewed interest in Celtic’s young winger Rocco Vata, who will soon be free to sign a pre-contract with another team.

Tonight, Anthony Joseph, a writer for Sky Sports, revealed that Sampdoria is the most recent team to indicate interest in signing the adolescent.

It’s shocking to hear that Vata hasn’t received a formal contract offer from Celtic. It is now believed that several Italian sides are interested.

The Bhoys rejected offers from Torino and Nottingham Forest for the player on deadline day at the end of the summer transfer window.

Joseph reports that the Bhoys will be due around £343,000 in compensation should he sign a pre-contract elsewhere and leave Celtic at the end of the season.

Rocco Vata looks destined for Celtic exit

For a time, it looked as if Vata would make a sustained breakthrough into the Celtic first-team squad.

He made four substitute appearances under Ange Postecoglou and was included in the pre-season plans of Brendan Rodgers.

However, he’s yet to feature for the senior team this season despite a raft of injuries in attacking areas.

The youngster has been in excellent form for the B team, netting 10 goals in 14 appearances, but looks no closer to earning regular competitive minutes under Rodgers.

Another highly-regarded player leaving the team would be disappointing, particularly when Celtic currently depends on guys like Mikey Johnston and James Forrest.

We might not learn the whole truth about this one or the reasons behind the breakdown of the connection if the player or the manager doesn’t respond.
