On Friday night when they play the Boston Celtics, the Toronto Raptors will be without a few guys off their bench.

The Raptors declared that Otto Porter Jr. (personal reasons)

Celtics

and Thad Young (illness) will miss the team’s first in-season tournament game.

With OG Anunoby rated as doubtful and anticipated to miss time due

to his ongoing recovery from a cut on his right index finger sustained earlier this week, Toronto is now even more shorthanded.

The good news for the Raptors is that Gary Trent Jr. should return

from his three-game absence due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot. Officially, it’s predicted that he will play.

Although Porter has developed into a useful rotation player for the

Raptors over the last few games, Young’s absence is unlikely to have

an impact on Toronto’s starting lineup. With Anunoby out, the Raptors

will probably give Gradey Dick even more playing time without

him as they look for three-point shooters. It is also anticipated that

Jalen McDaniels will receive minutes off the bench with Chris

Boucher, Malachi Flynn, and Precious Achiuwa.

Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis are both classified by the

Celtics as doubtful for Friday’s game. Al Horford is still likely.
