Premier League Winner Simpson Disclosed fall out with Agent Over Unsuccessful  Celtic Move.

Danny Simpson, a former defender for Leicester, disclosed that he had a falling out with his agency over a botched attempt to transfer to Celtic.

The 36-year-old Premier League winner was strongly linked to a 2019 move to Parkhead following his release from Leicester.

Former Manchester United defender claims he turned down a three-year contract in the hopes of moving to Glasgow, despite the fact that he had offers to stay in the Premier League.

Simpson revealed on the Filthy Fellas podcast that he even discussed the transfer with Neil Lennon and the coaching staff at Leicester, which included Kolo Toure and Brendan Rodgers.

Nevertheless, defender lamented making a number of “bad decisions” prior to joining Huddersfield. He most recently appeared for a Manchester United legends team against Hibs for David Gray’s testimonial.

Simpson last played for Bristol City in 2022, however since then, he hasn’t been with a team. The defender also disclosed that he had arguments with his agents after the aborted Celtic trade, suggesting that the incident still haunts him.

“I made some bad decisions; I could have stayed in the Prem,” Simpson clarified.

“I declined a three-year contract offer from another club after receiving another one. awful choice after awful choice.

“However, I had a falling out with my agent about something that involved Celtic.

“I rejected the other one since it was the one. There was Celtic on the table, and it was on the cards.

“I talked to Neil Lennon, and everything was great—winning more trophies, playing European football, a fitting conclusion.

” Also I discussed it with Brendan [Rodgers] and Kolo Toure.That collapsed at the very end when everything was finished.

“Finally I couldn’t go back to the other company I turned down because they had already signed someone else and it was too late.”
