Another Rangers attacker now ruled out for months as Ibrox update emerges today Ibrox News

Rangers ace Alex Lowry now ruled out for months as official Ibrox update emerges.

While they have not disclosed if Alex Lowry would go on loan, Rangers have announced that the player has sustained an injury that might sideline

him for up to two months.

After spending the first half of the season in Edinburgh, Lowry rejoined the team from Hearts. Rumor had it that he was scheduled to return for the

second half of the season.

Nevertheless, it appears that the 21-year-old midfielder will remain at Ibrox following an injury that might sideline him for up to two months.

Philippe Clement acknowledged that this isn’t the best scenario because it means he won’t be playing much.

“Alex Lowry returned from Hearts with an injury – and will be out for the next 6-8 weeks,” he said. “We didn’t know the severity of his injury when he first returned.

“Alex Lowry is a talented player – he developed away on loan and we are disappointed he is injured. It is difficult for him to get minutes here – so it is not an ideal situation.”

Blow

Lowry is one of the best young talents to come out of the Rangers academy in recent years, and he looked set to break into the first-team not too long ago.

He was playing regularly and there were fans calling for him to get more starts, but his career has stagnated a lot over the last 12 months and it’s a

real shame.

He obviously has the skill to succeed at Ibrox, but he frequently gets hurt, and it’s unclear how he will grow and develop in the absence of regular

playing time.

Now that he is expected to lose a significant portion of playing time once more and cannot make a trade, he will probably waste another six months.

If Lowry wants to continue at the club, he needs to figure out how to stay healthy and have an impact on the team, but for now, a summer transfer

abroad to start again in a new environment looks like the most likely course of action.
