Rangers to turn their attentions to £10 million rated EFL Championship left back.

In their quest for a left back, Rangers may focus on a highly regarded English defender, sources suggest.

In their quest for a left back, Rangers may look to an Englishman who was previously dubbed “exceptional” by Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, sources suggest.

Due to uncertainty surrounding the futures of Ridvan Yilmaz and Borna Barisic, the Ibrox club has been looking at a number of full backs this month.

Now, it is rumored that they are considering a move for Luke Thomas, a star for Leicester City.

The 22-year-old left sided defender was on loan with English Premier League side Sheffield United earlier this season but returned to his parent club

recently after starting just 11 games and now Foxes boss Enzo Maresca is said to be happy to send him out on loan in order to get much needed game time – and that has reportedly alerted Rangers boss Philippe Clement.

Gijs Smal, David Jurasek, and Cameron Pring have all been heavily linked to moves to Glasgow, but The Daily Mail reports that the Gers are now

aiming to lock up a late deal for Thomas before the transfer window closes in order to increase their options at the back.

TransMarkt values the player at £10 million. Earlier in the transfer window, Sunderland, an EFL Championship team, reportedly shown interest in the player.

Current left back Yilmaz scored his first league goal for the club on Wednesday as he blasted Rangers into the lead during their 3-0 win over Hibs but

could move back to his native Turkey during the window with Galatasary showing a strong interest in the defender.

Erden Timur, the president of Galatasary, stated about Yilmaz: “It is improper to discuss player names, and I am unable to comment on them.

When asked specifically about the 22-year-old full back, Barisic said, “That’s why I cannot answer.” Gazzetta dello Sport had speculated that AS Roma had made an initial attempt to sign the 31-year-old.
