Rangers agree deal with Galatasaray for Ridvan Yilmaz as transfer news details emerge

Burhan Can Terzi reports that Rangers have informed Galatasaray that they can afford to pay for Ridvan Yilmaz in June after the player and the team agreed on a loan deal.

The Turkish club has stated that they can rent the defender and perhaps make that deadline, according to a Haber Global journalist who was featured on LUE TV on Thursday, January 25.

Salim Manav also understands that a deal has been agreed with the 22-year-old defender, who only joined Rangers in the summer of 2022.

Galatasaray’s interest in Yilmaz has been widely reported for several weeks, leading to a variety of stories arising from the circumstances. On Wednesday, January 24, the defender scored in a 3-0 victory over Hibernian, giving rise to the possibility that he would remain with the team, especially after leaving a mysterious note on X.

Any exit would be a shame, considering how much he has developed already under Philippe Clement but the Belgian may potentially want to take the squad in a different direction.

That is always understandable when a new manager comes into a club but, at just 22 years of age, Yilmaz could be a player that sticks around Ibrox for many seasons to come.

Despite the fact that nothing significant appears to be coming out of Turkey just yet, Yilmaz has been playing strong defense lately and has improved his goal contribution rate.

The full-back can always come back at the conclusion of any possible loan stint. Yilmaz is not need to leave Ibrox because he signed a five-year contract in 2022.

All the club would have to do is monitor his development.
