This transfer window’s most strange and tiresome story has probably been the Rangers’ constant conjecture about left-backs, with Luke Thomas appearing as a new name from an odd source.
The 22-year-old England Under-21 international is back at Leicester City, where manager Philippe Clement of the Gers has noted that he could be a target. He made 12 appearances while on loan at Sheffield United in the Premier League the previous season.
Even if Luke Thomas has the kind of profile that suggests he would be regarded as an author and well-known face around Ibrox—Jeff Holmes is the unknown source of the connection—Rangers have more urgent worries than a new left-back.
